Richard B. Lind is an experienced and skilled attorney with over thirty years of experience representing individual and corporate clients in criminal, civil and regulatory matters. Mr. Lind has tried over forty jury trials to verdict in federal and state courts, and has argued dozens of appeals in such courts that have resulted in dozens of published opinions. He has handled numerous high-profile and landmark cases, involving all aspects of white collar crimes, including securities and wire fraud, bank fraud, RICO violations, and internet-related crimes. Mr. Lind’s work has received the highest lawyers’ peer review rating (AV) by Martindale Hubbell.
Mr. Lind affords his clients well-seasoned advocacy skills regarding all phases of criminal and civil proceedings. On numerous occasions, Mr. Lind has been able to persuade prosecutors to refrain from indicting individuals or corporations or to substantially reduce the gravity of those charges so that they could be disposed of by favorable plea bargains. At trial, because of Mr. Lind's knowledge and experience, he has been able to gain suppression, restrict the prosecution's case, gain dismissal, or obtain an acquittal. At sentencing, in numerous cases, through meticulous preparation and careful articulation of his client's position, Mr. Lind has obtained significant sentencing reductions.
In addition to his work in criminal cases, Mr. Lind also has significant experience in all phases of civil practice, as well as in criminal and civil asset forfeiture. Moreover, Mr. Lind has represented individuals and corporations before a variety of investigative bodies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, and the New York Attorney General's Office.
Previously, Mr. Lind was a law clerk to a United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York, and a litigation associate at two prestigious New York law firms, Cahill Gordon & Reindel, and Cravath Swaine & Moore. A New York native, Mr. Lind is admitted to practice in New York State courts, the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the Second Circuit, as well as a number of other Federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country.
